Here are a few photos of my two Aftrican Servals. They enjoy the water very much! Both of my servals love to go on walks and wade around in their pools. Today, we went to the forest and found a nice shallow stream with lots of grass and logs to explore. A great time was had by all!!
I must mention that our great friend, Shelley Franklin honored us by enduring, heat and mud to get these great pictures!! Thanks Shelley!

Zeek is a sweet soul. He loves to play and lounge by the water. He is an absolute love bug! He has become my daughter's best friend. He purrs non-stop and helps in the grooming of all of our domestic cats. He has only hissed a few times in in life, and that was only when he was getting his shots!

This is Ziraili and me! We found a nice log to hang out on while the stream passed slowly beneath us. Ziraili is now 10 months old. She is more on the "hissy" side. And will allow only me to handle her. She loves to play the "I'm a big kitty game", meaning that she will hiss at you to see what your reaction will be, then if you ignore her, she will come to you and rub up on you and jump up on you to get attention. When you finally give in and give her the attention that she demands....look out!! She will hiss at you again! She developed this game with my husband, and has taken it further with my two kids. She has never bitten or scratched any of us. She is just wonderful. She purrs all the time and loves to snuggle. She also takes very good care of the baby bobcat and lynx. She will bring them food, clean them and cuddle them to sleep. She will be a wonderful mamma some day.

Ziraili loved playing in the water. This is typical of the African Serval. They eat small rodents, birds and fish! They are avid fishermen..err..fishercats!! She spent a good hour chasing the small trout in the shallow areas of this beautiful stream. Servals are found in Africa, always around water. They especially love being in the tall grass. This is their "cover". They can hunt for both fish and birds there. Oh yes, and occasionally a small snake or reptile.
